Halloween and Thanksgiving 2012

Don't mind me, I'm still just trying to catch up, and I am very obviously behind!  But as we are using this as a digital scrapbook, I still like to document all of the going ons, even if I am a little late in doing so.  :)

Anyway, after coming home from the weddings, it was time for Halloween!  About a week before Halloween, we decided to carve a pumpkin.  It was actually the first time that Cody and I carved a pumpkin without any other family members, so we kind of let our goofiness take over.  :)

The beginning of the carving process.  Still not sure what kind of pumpkin we should carve...
Decision made: Scared Pumpkin!
Finished, with the lit candle.
Cody added the finished touch, a knife through the top.
As it was Hunter's first Halloween, it just seemed natural for him to be Batman, right?  :)  I didn't want a cutesy baby Batman costume, so I searched for kind of a "grown-up" version.  I then decided to make it a family event and found a Joker shirt for Cody to wear, and I was Harley Quinn, which in the comics is The Joker's girlfriend.  We even had Vega in a bow tie as she was Alfred.

Being such a cute little Batman!

We had some friends come to our neighborhood and took the kids to just a few houses so we could all show off our costumes.  I think that the adults had more fun than the kids, tho!  :)  I have been getting lots more ideas for next Halloween...

As we all know, Thanksgiving follows Halloween.  :)  And we decided to do a "misfits" Thanksgiving, which basically meant that we invited anyone over who didn't have family or another place to go.  We ended up having quite an awesome group of people.  :)

Our spread...so much yummy food!!
Hunter's favorite part about Thanksgiving, dessert!
It was such a fun time celebrating our thanks with our "misfit" family.  :)  In fact, we had such an amazing time and so much leftover wine, that we ended up inviting everyone back over that Saturday for wine and pizza.  :)  Such a great and fun weekend!
