Our little man is now six months old...eeek! I can't believe how fast time is going. As I keep saying, I get so torn, because I want him to gain weight, learn new things and advance to the next stages, but at the same time I get so sad when he does do all these things. :) I have the weirdest emotions when he does something new, such as I get super excited and happy and then super sentimental. As Cody would say, "women are weird." :) Anyway, we had our 6 month check up for Hunter on the 25th. He weighed in at 12 pounds 11 ounces and is now 25.5 inches long. He is still in the 5th percentile for weight, but finally made it to the 10th percentile for height and head. Yay! He had to get three shots, the first shot he didn't even notice, he was too busy playing with his binkie clip, the second shot he cried for a minute, but the third shot he started screaming and crying big ol' sad tears. Totally broke my heart. He calmed down very quickly and I was able to snuggle with him out to the car. He fell asleep on the way home and we transferred him to his swing, where he took a very long nap. Because we weren't able to preemptively give him some infants Tylenol right when we got home, he woke up with a very loud scream. Cody tried to keep him calm while I grabbed the meds, and we switched off holding and snuggling him until the drugs kicked in. We knew the moment they started working, because he went back to him normal happy, smiley, squealing self. :)

Hunter has now tried rice cereal, sweet potatoes, and green beans. We have also started giving him a sippy cup with water. He has liked them all very much, but he mainly just thinks his sippy cup is a new toy. :) I am so excited to keep trying new foods with him.

Silly, messy, little boy!

Hunter is also now become a master of rolling over from his belly to his back. Nothing can contain him for tummy time anymore. I have tried putting him on the Boppy on his belly, and usually after a minute or two, he ends up like this...
or this...
The other day he figured out how to get completely off the Boppy. I was actually able to catch it on video. Such a silly dude he is!
He still hasn't mastered rolling from his back to his belly, but he has done it before, he is just a little lazy. We have been practicing sitting up, and with the help of the Boppy, he sits pretty well.
And he does the tripod sit, or as Cody calls it his monkey pose, where he leans on his arms. But when he does stay like that for a prolonged period, we never think to grab the camera, and when we do finally reach for it, he gets distracted and falls over. So unfortunately we don't have a picture of him sitting in his monkey pose.
Hunter has been so much fun and Cody, Vega, and I absolutely adore him. :) I really do enjoy watching him grow and starting to see his personality come through.
Love this little man!!
