Me with my cute mommy and adorable mother-in-law, Laurie.
My father-in-law, Mike (a.k.a. Papa John) and my brother-in-law, JJ.
My mom and me enjoying the day.
Sadly, I kept forgetting that I had my camera, so I didn't get many other pictures. But I was glad to get some pictures of the nice sunny day to show Cody that they really do happen. The rest of my trip was pretty laid back, mainly just eating and catching up. It was a lot of fun to see everyone, even if it really hadn't been all that long since we had moved. :)
After a few more weeks in the apartment downtown, we were able to move into our new place on March 31. It was a pretty crazy day. We had to have everything we had with us packed up and ready to go early that morning so we could meet the movers at the house. It was so crazy to see them bring everything in...it was like it would never stop. We didn't remember having this much stuff when we moved. Vega was kind of worried, because she didn't know what was going on. She wasn't use to the house, and with all the boxes and people coming and going, she was whining all day that first day. It was so sad.
When the movers were finished bringing things in and the few things that they were able to set up for us, it was time for us to get started. It was around 2:00pm when we got started unpacking, and it was all very overwhelming at first. We didn't really know where to start, so we just picked a box and started going through it. It was like Christmas! Seeing all of our stuff that we hadn't seen in so long, it made it feel like we actually lived here.
Very cluttered and smashed in the house. At first we weren't sure if all of our things would even fit.
Trying to make sense of everything.
After a few days of heavy lifting and organizing, we were finally making some progress.
We can actually see the floor! Yay!
Vega's favorite seat in the house. She loves being able to look outside.
We have put everything away, and now we are working on mainly decorating the place. I will post pictures of things when it is all cute and fancy. :) The great thing about the location of this house is that we are still pretty close to things. It isn't a far drive to downtown if we wanted to go hang out there, and there are so many restaurants and shops very close by us. Also, we are about a 15 minute walk from Green Lake. Yesterday was such a beautiful day that we took the dog for a walk over there. We let her go swimming after the ducks, and they kept flying away and she was looking at us whining because she wanted them so desperately.
Silly Vega!
Even the turtles were enjoying the sun.
Such a gorgeous day!
Yay! I'm excited to see a few pics of the house. I can't wait to see it all fancy!
