Mariners, Molly, and Sun...Oh My!!

On June 20th, our super good friend, Molly, came and stayed with us for six weeks. She was doing a medical school rotation at the University of Washington, so the last four weeks she was with us, she was pretty busy. The first two weeks she was here, there was lots going on, and the weather was wonderful, so we stayed pretty busy.

First we went to a Mariners baseball game, which is always fun, even if they always lose. :)

The next weekend Seattle had their annual beer fest, so of course we had to go check it out. It was another beautiful day, so we enjoyed being outside, but not all the people.

The beer fest was really fun, with lots of yummy food! They had a band playing, so we were able to find a spot on the grass and enjoy some live music and some sun. Once we had our share of food, drinks, and all the people, we left to go wander around the Sculpture Park.

A cool picture of the Space Needle as we were leaving.

More cool sculptures. :)

The next day was July 4th, so we went to Gasworks Park. They have the fireworks launch off of a boat in the middle of Lake Union, and if you get to Gasworks Park early enough, you can get an awesome seat. We didn't stay there for the fireworks, but we hung out there most all day.

An awesome view of the Gasworks.

For the fireworks, we met up with some friends who had access to a boat on Lake Union, so we had a great view of the barge where the fireworks were launched from sitting on the dock. It was such an amazing show. It really was an awesome day.

On the last day of Molly's stay, we decided to get out of the city and go drive to Mount Rainer and go hiking. We found a hike that was somewhat close to the mountain, but just a little more mellow. It was so beautiful and so very green!

Cute little river.

Crossing the bridge.

Beautiful Silver Falls.

Cool looking stream.

So, that is some of what we did while Molly was in town visiting. It was so much fun having her stay with us, and Vega loved having a new person to cuddle with. Finally, I will leave a very funny, cute picture of the Vega dog dressed up as a silly doggie.
