NICU Baby-Week One

Okay, I did want to share my very last belly picture, so here it is.

32 Weeks and 5 Days, taken the day we left for Utah, December 20th.

Sometimes it is still so crazy to me that we had a baby already, it is still such a dream, a great dream tho!

Anyway, so back to my story. :) Our baby was in the NICU for a total of 3 weeks and 4 days, with so many milestones while he is was in there. After he got his breathing tube out, the next step was to get him his full feedings not through an IV, so everyday they would up how much food they were giving him through his feeding tube through his nose. They would have to move both IV's around from time to time, so he would have them in his hands, his foot, and his head. He also had an IV for antibiotics. Here are quick a few pictures of him that first week in the hospital.

Hunter in his deluxe suite. :) This was the first time we saw him after he was born.

First time holding mommy's hand.

First time he opened his eyes.

All cozy in his isolate.

Trying to take a bottle from Aunt Jami- 6 days old.

Cody remembered to take a picture from our delivery room before we left so we could remember the beautiful Utah morning he was born.

Because Hunter came so fast and so early, we still did not have a name picked out, so he remained "Batman" for that entire first day. For those of you who don't know, since we have found out that our baby was a boy, Cody's only real name he would suggest was Batman, not as a serious name, but if you know Cody, you know he can be a real smart-ass sometimes. :) Since we did not have a name picked out, we still called him Batman, and told the nurses that is what we have been calling him for months. Until we had chosen a name, these signs were all over his room.

Since we weren't able to have him home for Christmas Day, we did go to the hospital and snuggle with him. It was hard to not be able to spend the entire Christmas day with my cute little boy, but at least we were able to go spend some time with him.

I still have so many things to post about and oh so many pictures. Stay tuned! :)
