Bellingham Overnighter

Over Memorial weekend, we decided that we wanted to take a mini road trip and get out of the Redmond/Seattle area. We weren't sure where we wanted to go, but we wanted something within a couple of hours of driving.  We did some research and decided that we would go visit the little town of Bellingham, Washington. It is about an hour and forty-five minute drive north of Redmond. It was close enough that we could have just done a day trip, but we wanted to stay overnight with the baby and puppy. So, we packed up our stuff and the Pack 'n Play and headed out Sunday morning. The drive was very nice and Hunter slept most of the way. We got into Bellingham early afternoon, grabbed some lunch, and checked into our hotel.

Because we had Vega with us, the hotel gave her a little doggy meal pack.

The fam hanging out on the bed while we decide where to go.

There was a little hiking area and some waterfalls close by, so we decided to go check it out. We suited Hunter up in the baby carrier, and off we went with Vega in tow. It was Hunter's first hike, and he loved it. He just looked around at the trees, and when we got to the waterfall, I think he liked the sound, because he laid his head on my chest and just watched the waterfall. It was very peaceful and fun to just snuggle with the little dude.

We kept walking and found a little pond for Vega to go swimming.

Hunter was very good, and very snuggly, so I took him out of the carrier and snuggled with him while we enjoyed the sun.

Mama and Baby.

We went back to the hotel and Cody and Vega took a nap while Hunter and I played. ;) Then we found a cute little Italian restaurant downtown and grabbed some yummy dinner. It was one of those restaurants where the kitchen is out in the open and we could watch them cook.  Hunter was fascinated with them cooking and the fire and he was very entertained, so Cody and I were able to enjoy a very nice dinner. :) Hunter and Vega did very well that night, and we were all able to get some good sleep. Hunter went down to bed very easily and only woke up once that night. We ended up having to wake him up in the morning because he was sleeping for so long. :) We were going to head up to Mt. Baker, because we were so close, but decided we wanted to spend a lazy day at home, so we packed back up and headed back to Redmond. It was a very fun short trip, and I am very glad that we survived our first mini-vaycay in a hotel with dog and baby. Now we know we can go visit lots more places!
