NICU Baby-The Final Week

Hunter was in the NICU for a total of three weeks and four days. The last week he was in the NICU was a great week of growing and learning, for both Hunter and myself. He was taking more bottles more often and was awake for longer periods of time. He had been in a "big boy bed" for quite a few days, meaning they moved him from the isolate to a hospital crib.

One of the first times he was awake and ready to play while we were at the hospital that wasn't three in the morning, which seemed to be his favorite time to be awake. :)

First time we saw him after his umbilical cord fell off. What a cute little belly button!

Cute little hat to keep him warm. :)

Look at all that crazy hair!

No more pictures, Mom! :)

A few days before he came home, they took the feeding tube out because it was looking a little weird, and needed to be replaced, but the nurse decided to just keep it out, since it would be easy enough to put back if it was needed. So every morning I would wake up in a panic and call the NICU and see if he made it through the night still with his feeding tube out. Thankfully, they never had to put it back in.

Holding on tight to Dad's had while eating. Hunter was learning to LOVE to eat!

Hunter passed his carseat test, so he was on his way to being ready to come home!

  1. He has grown and changed so much already! Keep posting pics and blogging, it is so much fun to have this "journal". Missing you all so much, can't wait until March!
